Answer: Take a shower, condition your hair. Let it air dry for around fifteen minutes and then brush it. Part your hair in the middle, and then roll your hair using medium sized hair rollers. Remember to roll the OUTWARDS not inwards.
Wait for 45 minutes and then blow dry your hair. Take the rollers out, and you should get the same curls.

Are there actual Rizzoli and Isles video games?
I know that there are NCIS video games. And since NCIS and Rizzoli and Isles are my favorite shows, I was wondering if there are any sort of video games that you can buy (not just play online), for Rizzoli and Isles. Like if there are any for the computer or wii, or xbox, etc. Not just online or on the i-pad.
Answer: There was an on-line game but it had too many flaws. I do not know if they ever solved the problem. I finally gave up.

In what episode of Rizzoli & Isles, if any, does Maura Isles show that she is opposed to foul language?
I am a big fan of the television series Rizzoli & Isles; so much so that I sometimes read Rizzles fanfiction. Ive noticed that many authors include in their stories dialogue along the lines of, "Jane: Damn. Maura: Jane, language!"
Im trying to remember if Maura has ever said anything on the show to prove that shes opposed to swearing or if its just a weird fandom thing. Can anyone help?
Answer: I dont remember anything like that from any of the episodes

CHRISTMAS BOOKS; JAPAN
ISLES OF GOLD Antique Maps of Japan. By Hugh Cortazzi. Illustrated. 142 pp. New York: John Weatherhill. $75. Hugh Cortazzis Isles of Gold appeals to both the eye and the intellect. His subject is old maps of Japan, from Japan and Europe. He argues that they are works of art, beautiful as well as practical, and the books admirable plates, most - By Edward SeidenstickerBy EDWARD SEIDENSTICKER houses left. The natural reason is that . . . such a house . . . is unsuited to the present Japanese way of life. Another way to put the matter is that people are not willing to take the trouble. It is far easier to slap plastic things on a roof than to thatch it. So the day may come when no one knows how to thatch, and these beautiful pictures will be a record of something lost forever. THE WORLD OF BAMBOO Photographs by Shinji Tanaka. 236 pp. San Francisco: Heian International Publishing. $75. The World of Bamboo is, by comparison, disappointing. It is almost entirely a book of photographs, and they are just a touch too bright, too highly colored. Then there is the fact that too many of the photographs are of bamboo growing and not enough are of bamboo fabricated. A bamboo grove is a lovesome thing, God wot! - as any New Yorker may now ascertain by stepping from Madison Avenue into I.B.M. Plaza. Yet bamboo is one of those resources man improves on by adapting it to his needs. It is also the most renewable of resources, springing cheerfully back almost immediately after it has been cut over, and it is wonderfully pliant and versatile. So the book might have been improved if it had been less about bamboo groves and more about bamboo artifacts. To make something ugly of bamboo seems scarcely possible. My disappointment in the book is slight, however, and perhaps would not be there at all but for the comparison with Traditional Japanese Houses. The World of Bamboo is a worthy book too. THE JAPANESE INFLUENCE IN AMERICA By Clay Lancaster. Illustrated. 314 pp. New York: Abbeville Press. $39.95. The Japanese Influence in America is a reprint, with a new introduction, of a book first published 20 years ago. It is dated, but because nothing has really replaced it and the subject is a rich one, it is not to be dismissed as insignificant. Yet one wishes it had been brought up to date; so much has happened since. And one wishes that it were really about what the title announces. The largest picture on the dust jacket is of a painting by Whistler, but there is little in the book about painting. It is almost entirely about gardening and architecture. There are, of course, all manner of subjects other than gardens and buildings that might have been discussed. There is the Japanese influence on Detroit, for instance. Mr. Lancaster takes us back to a simpler day, when the problem of competing with Japan did not exist and we were under certain illusions. We all suffered more or less from a River Kwai complex, one of the implicit assumptions of that excellent movie being that the Japanese needed English help to build a bridge. Perhaps our relations with Japan have become so complex they cannot be brought between the covers of a book. Someone should make the attempt, all the same, and it would be a pity if this reprint were to have an inhibiting effect. THE ART OF ZEN GARDENS A Guide to Their Creation and Enjoyment. By A. K. Davidson. Illustrated. 151 pp. Los Angeles: J. P. Tarcher. Cloth, $15.95. Paper, $9.95. Titles are willful, aggressive things, getting out of control and taking over. Or maybe it is Zen that is that way. The Art of Zen Gardens would have had more integrity if the qualifier were Japanese and not Zen. Zen soon occupied a central position in Japanese culture, we are told, affecting every aspect of it from that day to this. This is generalization at its most abandoned, and to give Zen credit for all the techniques described and illustrated in this useful manual is somewhat breathtaking too. The earliest of the famous temple gardens happen to coincide with the time (the 13th and 14th centuries) when Zen was something like a state religion in Japan, but the key to the success of the sect is that it accommodated itself to attitudes that had been around for a very long time. The art of gardening was highly developed centuries before Zen emerged as an independent Buddhist sect. How would we feel about a book called The Anglican Gardens of England? Stripped of its mystique, however, the book should be useful for those who wish to do Japanese gardens for themselves. THE JAPANESE PRINT SINCE 1900 Old Dreams and New Visions. By Lawrence Smith. Illustrated. 144 pp. New York: Harper & Row. Paper, $10.95. Describing the end of a tradition, Lawrence Smith writes, The arrival of the Westerners threw the traditional Japanese print into confusion which was to last until the decade 1890-1900. He spurns the Meiji woodcut. He may or may not be right to do so. It is a matter of taste. Some of us love the Meiji print, even its garish insensitivity, really no more garish than the work of the German Expressionists or the Mexican artists so universally admired. Be that as it may, one wonders, looking through the books photographs of 20th-century prints, who is confused. There is a bit of everything, from the sweetly melancholic traditional to the unapologetically ugly, from abstract explosions and geometric designs to silk- screened photographs. The book is annoying to use. The plates are not in numerical order, and the captions are usually at some remove from the plates. No great effort and expense would have been required to make things easier for the reader. TADASHI NAKAYAMA By Kappy and Marshall Hendricks. Illustrated. 183 pp. Bethesda, Md.: Irongate Editions. $125. Everything may be in The Japanese Print Since 1900, but not everyone is. Tadashi Nakayama, the subject of the Hendrickses monograph, is not, though artists are included whose works, to judge from the photographs, resemble his. Tadashi Nakayama is a pleasant book, and he is a pleasant artist. His woodcuts are decorative and highly colored, though not garishly insensitive. He goes in largely for horses, butterflies and young women. His works are catalogued, and there are color photographs of everything available for photographing. The pictorial chronicle of the 37 states of a single print is very interesting, if just a little unsettling and confusing. Colors vary considerably from state to state even when the description indicates nothing has been added to the colors in question, and so we are made to fear that the reproductions are less than precise. THE GOLDEN AGE OF JAPAN 794-1192. By Rose Hempel. Translated by Katherine Watson. Illustrated. 258 pp. New York: Rizzoli. $75. The Golden Age of Japan is a translation of a German work, published in Switzerland. The German title - which translates as The Art and Culture of the Heian Period - is more modest and provides a clearer indication of what the book is. Though not reliable in every detail, the readable text is a competent enough survey of Heian culture (from the 9th through 12th centuries). Since there is nothing particularly new about any of this and the book is a large one with many illustrations, it would seem to be meant chiefly as an art book. Unfortunately, the printing is poor. The black-and-white photographs are frequently wanting in contrast, and the color is very inferior. The same publisher did both this book and Traditional Japanese Houses, the most beautiful book discussed here. The Golden Age of Japan was printed in Germany, Traditional Japanese Houses in Japan. The Japanese do these things well, and that may tell us a little something about the problems of the West.
