Patrice Bergeron injury: Bruins center will travel with the team ...
19 hours ago ... Amid reports of a possible spleen injury, Bergeron is out of the hospital and traveling with his teammates.
How are the Bruins so good with big name players missing?
TSN had the Bruins ranked last at the beging of the season. Now look , there one of the most competitve teams in the NHL and with players like Patrice Bergeron , Chuck Kobasew, Mark Savard and Manny Fernadez misssing there still able to get it done. Crazzy aint it?
Answer: hahah "..TSN HAD THEM DEAD LAST, THEY'RE DEAD WRONG; THE BOSTON BRUINS ARE GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS ONCE AGAIN!"
Because they don't center they're play around the big named players. They truly play as a team. They've had to call on some younger players from Providence, and the young guys have gotten it done. Krejci has been doing real good, Sobtka, Nokalinen, Reich, and the obvious Lucic, the list goes on and on. There's these players that you've never heard of in your life getting game winning goals, and being the turning point in games night after night. It's real exciting to watch.

SPORTS BRIEFING | HOCKEY; Another Flyer Suspended
Philadelphia defenseman Randy Jones was suspended for two games by the N.H.L. for his violent hit on Bostons Patrice Bergeron. He is the third Flyers player suspended for a dangerous play this season. Joness banishment is brief compared with those of Steve Downie (20 games) and Jesse Boulerice (25 games). Should I accept this fantasy hockey trade?
I give Patrice Bergeron and Brent Seabrook
For
Marian Gaborik and Frans Nielson
Dustin Brown,Nathan Horton, and Clutterbuck as my other rightwingers.Gaborik had a down year last year, and I dont know if I should take the risk and give away a good center and defenseman. Gaborik would be on the line with Richards, so he might have a 40 goal season again.
He also has Claude Giroux,so I could try trading for him instead.
Answer: If Gaborik does not have injuries, he could do well with Brad Richards.
But this is Gaborik, so more than likely he will have some sort of injury and he will be out for a period of time and will take too long to get back into the swing of things.
In other words, heck no!

Which Center and Left Wing should i add?
I need both Centers and Left Wings so heres my options
Centers:
Mikhail Grabovski, TOR
Saku Koivu, ANA
Andy McDonald, STL
Patrice Bergeron,BOS
Left Wings:
Matt Cooke, PIT
Ryan Malone, TB
Ruslan Fedotenko, NYR
For the Left Wings i might trade around or should i add one of these guys?
Answer: Center: without a doubt i would take patrice bergereon. i am a bruins fan and i watch every game and bergereon is one of the best centers in the league. he is a great forechecker and he knows the game really well.
Left Wing: i would take malone. tampa bay has been racking up the points latley and he is way better than cooke and fedotenko

Most underrated Centre in the National Hocky League?
Marc Savard? I think he is, possibly Patrice Bergeron.
Answer: I'd agree Marc Savard for sure. People know he's good after the last couple seasons, but he still isn't considered one of the top players in the game as he should be. People said his numbers in Atlanta were only a fluke and simply due to playing between Kovalchuk and Hossa. Last year, he basically had the same numbers on a garbage team.
That being said, I hate Savard. I can tell you from first hand experience that he's a goof. I bartended at a golf course where he had a membership. Not gonna go into detail about some of the crap he pulled at the course, but it was pretty bad.

Answer: I like Martin Havlat for the Wild, but Grabovski and Couture have been scoring goals at a great pace. I'd chose between these three, but you can't go wrong with owning any of em.
Good luck!

What C should I start and maybe pick up for my Fantasy hockey team?
I can only pick 3 and the Cs I have are
Vincent Lecavalier
Patrik Berglund
Olli Jokinen
Patrice Bergeron
Nathan Gerbe
The two best Centers I could pick up are
Tim Connolly
Rich Peverley
Could you tell me who I should start and why? Should I pick up those players and why?
Thanks for your help and answers!!!!
Answer: Patrice Bergeron
Vincent Lecavalier
Patrik Berglund
Jokinen has missed several games the past couple of years. Last season was the only one where he came close to playing the full season, but still he does not resemble the player that he used to be. I would not pick up either one of those centers over what you already have. Lecavalier is getting older, but he is still potent offensively. Gerbe could become an excellent player later this season, but Berglund has the best potential right now.

Who thinks the Pittsburgh Penguins will beat the Boston Bruins in the Eastern Conference finals?
Sidney Crosby
Evgeni Malkin

James Neal
Pascal Dupuis
Jarome Iginla

You just cant beat that roster.
The Bruins are a good physical team, but can they wear them down? can they wear down that offensive juggernaut?
Who will Zdeno Chara match up against? How will Patrice Bergeron contain all those superstars.
Will Milan Lucic, Nathan Horton and Johnny Boyhuck all have to play out of their minds, not just in a physical matchup but in 1 on 1 battles.
What about David Krejci. probably one of the most clutch playoff performers ever, nows the time they will need him more than ever
This in my opinion will be the matchup of the entire year if it does indeed happen
Answer: The Pens have won 6 straight ... IN Boston. Not a good stat for Bruin fans. In their 3 regular season meetings in 2013, Pittsburgh won all three. And though the Bruins are a physical team, the Pens have come out hitting when they've met this year. Chara has taken a beating from them. The only ray of hope in Boston is that all three losses were by 1 goal and they probably have the better goaltender. But it's not enough.
Pens in 6.

Will Patrice Bergeron make Team Canada for the upcoming 2010 Olympics?
I was thinking he might make fourth line centre. I know there are better offensive centers that could be on the team but Bergeron would bring a great defensive aspect to the team. Whats your opinion?
Answer: It could very well be between him, Mike Fisher and Mike Richards.......and I think that Richards has the inside track on it. He is certainly garnering some talk and alot of interest.
Also, contrary to what the first poster said, aside from his concussion from the Randy Jones hit, he has not had that much of a history with injuries......besides, Yzerman and Team Canada are more concerned with who is healthy now, not the potential for injury, especially with a 3 man taxi squad.
Also...Canada has been known to carry a defensive specialist or two who excel in a two way game and can kill penalties.......Bergeron (and Richards/Fisher) certainly fit this bill.

I am thinking of either Steve Ott or Corey Crawford? Who should I choose and why?
Thanks for your help!

Patrice Bergeron won Gold at the Worlds before winning Gold at the World Juniors?
Lindros won a Canada Cup before winning another World Juniors.
Kris Draper played in the NHL/AHL before playing in the OHL.
Ken Dryden won the Conn Smythe before his rookie season (where he won the Calder)
What are some other anomalies similar to this?
BQ- Why do some people answer (especially incorrectly) a question after the correct answer has been posted? Perhaps they just didnt read the previous answers?
Answer: Bergeron had the anomaly of making the Bruins as an 18 year old, and then the lockout happened while he still had a year of junior eligibility.
Anomalies
- Tony Esposito getting a Stanley Cup ring (Montreal, 1968-1969) a year before winning the Calder Trophy (Chicago, 1969-70)
- Jonathan Toews winning a World Championship gold medal (the same year he won a World Junior Gold) before playing a single NHL game
