Will my iPhone become bricked after updating to iOS 7 without registering my UDID?

I recently downloaded iOS 7 without registering my UDID number. I have followed the steps perfectly by holding shift and clicking update software on iTunes and selecting the iOS 7 ipsw. I was wondering if my iPhone will become bricked when the iOS 7 beta 2 comes out to developers. I have watched one youtube video and it says it will become bricked and read a comment on another website saying it wont if you have followed the steps perfectly. Will you guys help me? Thanks

Answer: Once the expiration date (June or July 24 I can't recall) hits, if you have not updated to beta 2 your phone will deactivate itself. Your options are to either get someone to register your device to allow the update or downgrade the firmware back to 6.1.3. You are safe for a while, but just know that your firmware will expire.

What happens if I upgrade to iOS 7 without a dev account?

I found a way past the UDID and the dev activation for iOS 7 beta 1 and I am currently using it. Will anything happen since I did this?

Answer: Yes, the beta 1 will expire when the beat 2 is realsed and most likely Apple will patch that loophole you found. I would reccomend you downgrade to the latest version of iOS 6 for your device. See the guide below.

Ive installed the beta ios 7 restoring my iphone now im stuck because i cant buy the membership for DEV because i dont have my UDID and i cant go back to the IOS 6. Please Help

Answer: You’ll have to set your device to Recovery/DFU Mode. Here’s how to do that.

1. Hold the power and home button at the same time. The phone will reset. DO NOT let go of these buttons when it resets.

2. When the Apple logo shows, let go of the power button, but continue holding the home button. When you see the “Connect to iTunes” image, your device is in recovery mode.

3. Connect your device to iTunes, click restore, and iOS 6.1.3 will be restored to your phone.

My friend has iOS 7 on her iPhone but wont tell me how she got it. Is there any way to get it or do I have to wait until it appears as a software update in general settings?

Answer: The only way to get iOS 7 beta software is if you have an Apple Developer account or get an Apple Developer to add your device to their account for you.

I got iOS 7 beta from www.ios7betas.co.uk. They registered my iPhone onto their developer account for £2.50.

iOS 7 is due for general release around September time. If you can't wait till then that website is a good option.

Been using iOS 7 for a few days now and it's working great. It has some really good new features and not been buggy for me.

Answer: 1. to download go to imzdl.com
2. scroll down to iOS 5 beta and download the one for your model
3. scroll down to iTunes 10.5 beta 5 and download
4. Put your iPod into dfu mode
4a. plug iPod into iTunes
4b. press the home and power button for 10 seconds
4c. release the power button but keep holding the home button
5. press Shift (windows) or control (mac) and click on restore
6. browse for the .ipsw (probably in documents, desktop, or downloads) and press open
7. wait for the restore to finish and set up your iPod on iOS 5

To Install OS5:
1)Download and install new itunes(links below)
2)plug in your iDevice to computer and hold down shift key and hit restore. You will be prompted to browse for an ipsw. Select the firmware file you downloaded for your device (links below)


ACTIVATION
1)Jailbreak the Idevice with redsn0w...
2)When finished navigate to system/library/CoreServices using iphone folders
3)Copy "SystemVersion.plist" to your computer
4)First open notepad as admin. Than open "SystemVersion.plist"
5)Scroll to the end and delete "ReleaseType Beta"
6)Reboot the iDevice using redsn0w
7) Activated for free

Will my iPhone become bricked after updating to iOS 7 without registering my UDID?

I recently downloaded iOS 7 without registering my UDID number. I have followed the steps perfectly by holding shift and clicking update software on iTunes and selecting the iOS 7 ipsw. I was wondering if my iPhone will become bricked when the iOS 7 beta 2 comes out to developers. I have watched one youtube video and it says it will become bricked and read a comment on another website saying it wont if you have followed the steps perfectly. Will you guys help me? Thanks

Answer: Likely. The beta versions expire & just cause you have beta 1 doesn't mean beta 2 will work through the same loophole. Should go back to iOS 6 sooner than later.

Answer: well, I had iOS 6 without a registered UDID and i was able to update throughout the next beta versions. if Apple is doing the same with this iOS as the last iOS then you should be able to update with no problem. when beta 2 comes out, do some research on updating so you know for sure. What happens when iOS 7 beta 1 expires?

What will happen to my iphone 5 when the ios 7 beta one expires? I know I would have to go through the same process that I did to get the first one but I have a registered udid. Does this allow me to get the ota update and do I still have to download the firmware on the computer and update it manually? Any help would be much appreciated.

Answer: if you're a registered developer you just update to the 2nd beta without hassle, either through itunes or via over the air updates on a wireless network (maybe, not sure if it will be sent out this way). if you're not a registered dev, you'll either have to downgrade back to the previous firmware (6.1.3 i think?) or update to beta 2 the same way you did the first. Having an expired beta firmware on your iphone can render it unusable (bricked!) until you download the appropriate software package for it.
