Answer: Hopefully the Lakers. He has to realize that now with Ariza gone, it's opening up an opportunity to have more minutes and play alongside his good Friend, Artest and the team he helped win a championship this past year.



BQ1: It's lookin like they will.

BQ2: He does alot of small things for us, which some fans don't even appreciate. He's a very underrated rebounder, every time Bynum goes out from fouling or just not playing good, Odom comes in and gives us a much needed spark. If he leaves us, I don't think we will be as good or atleast as depth as last year's Lakers team.

Appearently the Blazers are making a huge offer for David Lee on the Knicks, and if the Knicks match it they will go all out after Lamar Odom.

How can Lamar Odom be effective as a starter with Bynum and Gasol?

Lamar Odom is a very good player, but the Lakers have such a glut of talent, and theyre very anxious to dump him.

I understand that he may not be a good fit at the small forward playing next to Bynum and Gasol, but what could he do to make this line up work, or be effective as a Laker?

Answer: What up Doomsayer,

I think with Lamar it has always been a mental thing- and for whatever reason he struggles in offensive sets when he doesn't have the ball in his hands.

With Bynum, and Gasol you are going to see a lot of open kickouts to Fisher and Kobe and so that is going to limit the number of touches that Lamar gets. I think Lamar can get more touches- but he has to want the ball and he has to take more shots- when he has them. The key to the Lakers and the triangle- is to take what the defense gives you- instead of just trying to fit a mode.

The Lakers have a great frontcourt for the Triangle in that their starting frontcourt can all hit the short to mid-range shots- the just have to cut.

As others have mentioned Lamar will probably be a better option off the bench because he'll be able to have more touches- and because his minutes may be a bit more limited- he may be apt to look for his shot more and be more aggressive. Aggressive Lamar is scary (as demonstrated in the first half against the Celtics in the finals)... but usually it is Lamar who takes Lamar out of games.

I think it's up to Lamar to include himself more- and not pout if he comes off the bench. With the starters he'll have to assert himself more- but also make himself someone that the defense has to double-team that makes the Lakers scary because you have multiple guys that have to be double teamed and that will create some open shots and one-on-one opportunities that their bigs and Kobe and LO should be able to take advantage of.

Hopefully he'll step up as he's key to the Lakers success this year.

Who Believes Lamar Odom Has A Chance To Play On The All Star Team?

I read that because of the many injuries happening to some of the players who would have possibly played on the All Start Team Lamar Odom has a good chance to land a spot and go to London to play with them.

Does anyone think this will happen after Lamar played so badly with Mavs on purpose. I cant see a powerful man like Mark Cuban NOT putting Lamar on some sort of "invisible" blacklist for his unprofessional actions when he was with the team.

What are your thoughts on this?

Answer: I guess he has a chance, but has he really earned it this season?

The olympics is 2,788 year old tradition of competitive sports. Winning an olympic gold is so significant for the players who are on the team, that I think someone more deserving than Odom should be given the opportunity.

To give you an idea of how significant it is, Kobe said the feeling of winning 5 championships is nothing compared to winning the olympic gold because there is so much tradition behind the games.

Answer: Nothing is guaranteed but the Lakers will be 2-1 favorite by Vegas lines. The Lakers will definitely be a huge favorite to win it again and it's not even close, they are unanimously the odd on favorite. Barring injuries, the Lakers will win 70 games or more this year. The Lakers are too strong at all position, also with the addition of Ron Ron, the Lakers are a BEAST defensively and Kobe gonna be the MVP and the Finals MVP for sure.

Do you think Lamar Odom and Ariza leaves after season regardless of their success or lack of?

Lamar Odoms production is basically reduced where is a 4th option instead of being the 1st and 2nd option that he once was. So I think he leaves in attempt to try to be an allstar player for at least 3-4 more years. I think Ariza is more likely to stay since he would most likely be a starting small foward for the lakers in the future but then again may not get to shine with kobe hogging the ball.

Answer: Ariza will likely leave if a team offers him a big offer. I think he likes playing in LA, but would probably leave if the Lakers wouldn't match an offer. as good as he's been for them, he's still a role player in the grand scheme of things.

Odom will stay in LA if he's willing to take a monster paycut, to the tune of 65% of his current salary. if Detroit gave him a large offer, he would probably take it.

Lamar Odom is the more versatile player (better passer, ballhandler, shooter, and better defender) but Boozer is a better player and power forward. Boozer is a better low post scorer and rebounder. Dont know David Lees status contract wise or health wise...You package Lamar Odom, throw in fMorrison or Farmar..Lakers would have starting line up of Bynum or Gasol, Lee, Ariza, Kobe and Fisher (or S. Brown). Would need to get another PG, and spark plug off the the bench.
