Which one do you recommend most for studying for the SAT?
Answer: Personally, I would go with Princeton Review's "Cracking the SAT".
It is less biased than the College Board (because the college board actually makes the SAT exam) and has better studying advice and test-taking strategies.

Violent Felons Move Forward With Lawsuit Over Their Rights to Parole
Last year, a group of violent felons sued the administration of Gov. George E. Pataki, charging that the state was ignoring the law by categorically denying them parole. They figured their chances would improve under his successor, Eliot Spitzer, even though Mr. Spitzer was a tough former prosecutor who supported the death penalty. What day does College Board send out AP scores?
When does the College board send out scores for AP Exams to colleges?
On their web site it says that they will automatically send out scores if they have not been canceled by June 15th, but when do the scores actually go out?
Does anyone have a truly definitive date? Or just general stipulations. Either way it sounds slim that my scores will make it to my school by June 17th to exempt me from testing.
Answer: The College Board indicated below that by about July 1 you can call by telephone and receive your AP exam grades. That should mean that by the end of June they will send the reports to colleges.

Extra financial aid forms for prospective students. What is beyond the FAFSA and College Board Profile?
I am so confused when I log into college board, I am told that many institutions have specific forms for the University. For example American University or Smith College. When I log into the University site I can only find directions to the FAFSA, college board, or maybe one form. I call the financial aid office and probably dont ask the right questions. Help, please!!!!
Answer: I am a little confused by your question. If you are looking for other types of financial aid that you can obtain aside from FAFSA then you more than likely have to visit the college to pick them up, they may have some information on other funding but it really depends on the college. If you are looking for other grants then you may want to google something like "apply for college grants" and see what you are eligible for.
I hope you still apply for financial aid using FAFSA, try to due it before the March 2nd priority deadline to make sure you are in the running for all the federal grants. Feel free to email me if you still have a question, good luck!

How long will it take college board to send my sat scores if it says pending?
i sent my scores on nov 21st and college board still says they are pending. The deadline is dec 1st. if they are late will they defer my application?
Answer: You're not alone. I ordered my SAT scores to be sent on Nov 19 and its still pending. I'm applying to UT Austin and deadline is December 1st as well. You might want to contact admissions to tell them about your predicament. I've emailed an admission counselor and he said that they'll still file my application normally as long as my SAT scores arrive by Dec 31.
Good Luck!

Why am I not receiving my college packages to school? Is it because of college board?
I am a senior and I realized that everyone in my school is receiving packages from colleges and universities, except me. I was in a different school my junior year, and cant remember if college board asked where I go to school.. I think they are all going to my old school and dont know what to do!!! PLEASE help.
Answer: They are being delivered to you, not to your school. They would have forwarded them. The stuff you get from colleges depends on your PSAT scores - colleges buy lists of students with certain scores from College Board. But that's OK; just look up colleges you're interested in online.

How can I obtain my College Board results?
I graduated in 1989, and I dont know how or when I lost my College Board results and Ill like to recuperate them.
Answer: "Your scores are maintained on active file for one year after your high school graduation, or for one school year following your test date if you tested after high school. Please see Archived Scores for more information if you last tested before October 2002."
"Archived Scores" is a link that leads to the link below on the College Board website... I think that's for sending scores to schools, so I don't know if you just want them for yourself... maybe you can send them to yourself.
Found more info, for AP grades: "Four years after your test date, your AP grades are removed from our active computer files and archived. Requests for these archived grades must be in writing and cost $25 per recipient. In your correspondence, sent to the address above, please include the following information: your name at the time you took the exam, date of birth, social security number, current mailing address, daytime phone number, the year the exam was taken, name of the exam, name of the high school you attended, and the name and address of the institution to which you'd like your AP grades sent. Your AP transcript will go into first-class mail within 7 to 10 business days after we receive your request."
It depends on wich College Board tests you're looking for.

Can College Board CSS and FAFSA asking tenant to report property equity?
College Board CSS and FAFSA excluded homeowner from reporting their property equity, but two of this organization asking tenant to report their property equity. This is an unjustified regulations run by these two organizations. Especially, in many states homeowner live in over one million dollars home as their primarily residence and do not need to report their property equity when their child report on FAFSA and CSS.
Answer: The FAFSA does *not* ask about a family's home value.
The CSS Profile form asks for the parent's home net value. CSS Profile is used by about 300 universities, who use it, along with the FAFSA, to determine how much of their funds they will award a student via financial aid. Since they are disbursing their own funds, they have every right to ask about a family's income and assets.
If you feel the CSS Profile is an invasion of your privacy somehow, you certainly have the right to refuse to fill it out and send it to the college. The college, of course, will not award you any financial aid.

Do you fail the class if you get a 1 on the college board exam?
I take ap us history and this is my first time to get an ap class. I was excited yet I was extremely nervous of getting this class. I heard about the college board exam that people take in may and i was just wondering if you fail the college board exam does it mean you
fail the class?
Answer: Failing the college board exam doesn't mean failing the class.
It only mean you failed the college exam, if you have an A, B , C , or D in the class then this is your grade for the class and failing the college board exam won't affect your GPA, but when you go to college you will need to take the AP class again if it is needed for your major!
You fail the college board exam if you get 1or 2!
3-5 mean you passed it!
And Good Luck!
