How should the Jets handle their QB situation?
What are your thoughts on how the Jets should handle the QB situation and what do you think about my idea:
- Cut (but try to trade) Tebow
- Keep Sanchez (cant cut because of money)
- Keep McElroy
- Sign a low cost stop-gap QB (Matt Moore, Kyle Orton, Jason Campbell, etc.)
- Trade down in 1st round multiple times to get extra 1st rounders in 2014 so we can trade up for a QB. (This draft has a very weak franchise QB class, however next year should be much better with Aaron Murray of Georgia, Teddy Bridgewater of Louiseville, and Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M. AJ McCarron, Tahj Boyd, and Logan Thomas also come out next year and may rise up boards).
- Have Sanchez, the stop-gap veteran, and McElroy all compete for the starting job and order of depth chart
- Whoever wins the job is given a very short leash.
Answer: Get rid of Sanchez and Tebow.. Give McElroy a shot.....

Who replaces Tom Brady as the Patriots quarterback?
He turns 36 before the start of next season. About the time the contracts of some of the NFLs young quarterback run out he will be pushing 40. So will it be Johnny Manziel, or someone like Kurt Cousins, or Russel any opinions?
Answer: It will probably come to them like it came to the Packers replacing Brett Favre and the Colts replacing Peyton Manning.
Aaron Rodgers slipped to the late 1st round after some struggles at the end of his college season and an impressive combine by Alex Smith.
On the other hand the Colts never had a decent backup for Manning, and brought a 38-year old Kerry Collins back from retirement two weeks before the season started. Contrary to some Colts haters belief they never sucked for Luck, there was always some hope that Manning could return and play the Super Bowl in his own stadium.
Hopefully it will be more like Aaron Rodgers, they will take a prospect in the early rounds and let him mature and learn the playbook up for one or two seasons.

I have a question to anyone out there that owns NCAA Football 13 and knows A LOT about College Football?
I know Im a few months late but I recently purchased NCAA 13 for Ps3 and dont own a computer(I have internet through my phone)so I bought a USB cable with all the player names and coaches on it but of course as far as depth charts go they arent entirely accurate bc the game came out before the season started For example A&M starting QB is obviously Johnny Manziel but in the game the starter is Jameil Sowers. Oregon its Marcus Mariota and in the game its Bryan Bennett. So I was wondering if someone can possibly help me out plz on some depth chart adjustments? And maybe rating changes?
Answer: I tried using A&M just for using Johnny Football but I don't think he is in the game..

How does Mack Brown still have a job at UT-Austin after striking out on Luck, Griffin, and Tannehill?
If you know anything about college football, you know that the University of Texas-Austin has first dibs on the in-state talent. Things are starting to change (Texas A&M is the new sheriff in town), but it was like that for the longest time, especially in 2008, the year Griffin, Luck, and Tannehill were all seniors in high school.
Luck, Griffin, and Tannehill were all Texas kids, so they would have jumped all over a UT scholarship. UT didnt even get a QB that recruiting class, so theres no excuse for striking out on your states best QB prospects.
More recently, Mack Brown didnt even offer Johnny Manziel, a Texas-native and Heisman winner, a scholarship.
Going back to 2007, Texas didnt offer a scholarship to Texas-native Nick Foles, who eventually chose to go to Michigan State.
Timmy-
I’m not sure if UT offered them a scholarship, but offering a scholarship in, and of itself, is not enough to land a recruit. If you have to constantly keep in contact with them, have an in-home visit with them, etc. It’s all about pandering to them and treating them like royalty. I doubt Luck, Griffin, and Tannehill were offered scholarships, but even if they were, they werent getting the love and attention from Texas.
Also, the biggest thing that scares prospects away is competition. If, for example, Luck had committed to Texas, then Griffin wouldn’t go there because he wants to go somewhere where he’s guaranteed immediate playing time, or close to it. What surprises me is that they didn’t even land one of those guys. That’s inexcusable.
Some argue that Luck had his heart set on going to Stanford no matter what (Jim Harbaugh, HC of Stanford at the time, was recruiting Luck hard). Okay, fine. What’s Texas’ excuse for not landing RG3 or Tannehill, though?
Timmy-
I disagree about the part about how going to USC would give players a better chance of going to the NFL than would UT. UT is the only school in the America that has a TV network dedicated to them, called the Longhorn Network. UT has tons of national exposure, so much so that college coaches around the nation were/are complaining about how it gave Texas an unfair advantage when it comes to recruiting.
In my opinion, Notre Dame also has a bit of an unfair recruiting advantage because all of their games are nationally televised on NBC.
Timmy-
Read the very first sentence of my question. UT almost always gets any local players they want. Once in a while, a top in-state recruit will go elsewhere (Adrian Peterson). However, its not all that common. The fact that Texas let its three best in-state QBs get away speaks volumes about how deplorable they are when it comes to evaluating talent.
Timmy-
Texas was very strong in 2008, the year they missed out on the three Qbs in question.
Answer: I need some clarification on this.
Did UT offer them scholarships?
Did those QB's turn down those scholarship?
I am only asking because high school kids, especially QB's, who are talented know that they are much better off going to big name colleges rather than local, or smaller colleges. Playing for USC, will give them much better chances of going to the NFL than playing for a college like UT. Even in high school, those kids know this. Even if UT offered them a scholarship, I am almost 99% sure they would have turned it down anyway. I am sure those QB's were getting scholarships to just about any college they wanted. If I were them and I had scholarship offers from USC, and UT its very obvious that I will not even consider going to UT.
I know UT has had good teams in the past, but lately they are a failing football program and QB do not want to be part of a failing football program.
- - Its not like they would have automatically gone to UT just because they were offered a scholarship. Those QB's knew they could have gone anywhere they wanted to. I dont think they will go to Texas just because its the local school. I think they were smarter than that.
@Milliner - Yeah thats exactly what I was saying. They would have gone to the college that gives them the best opportunity to get to the NFL. Usually its playing time, and the amount of attention they will get from being on that team. RG3 was basically guarenteed playing time at Baylor. And Baylor is also a Texas school, so it was local for him also. But I can understand that UT should have landed at least one of these 3 QB's. Thats the one thing I dont like about college sports. It is so unfair and unbalanced towards big name schools. The big name schools get all the talent, all the talented players want to be with the big name schools so it makes it kind of unfair and unbalanced.
And Yes I agree with Notre Dame being unfair because of their televised games with NBC. The complete opposite with Penn State...Penn State has been so damaged that nobody will ever want to play for them. Knowing that you will not be able to play in a Bowl Game, and knowing that nobody will pay attention to Penn State football is a gaurentee that no decent player will play for them.
- I dont know if its Texas not being able to land these players as much as it is the player not wanting to play for them. Their football program has been struggling lately. So its harder for them to land top recruits when they are not playing at a very high level. But then again, they probably are not playing at a high level because they cant land the recruits...Its an interesting problem.
- Yeah thats true in 2008 they were a top 10 team (I think top 5)...But it might have been what the team would look like the following year. If you were RG3 looking at going to UT, and you look and see a top 5 program, that has 12 seniors graduating, no WR threats for the future, and no RB at the moment...That might turn you away from that program. Im not saying that was the case, Im not sure what Texas's program looked like going to forward from then. But little things like that can make the difference. But you're right anyway...Texas should have landed one of those 3 QB's.

How can I grow taller and to my full potential?
Im 13 years old and in 8th grade, Im a really good quarterback Im fast , strong, got a canon of an arm , Ive been compared to Robert Griffin III and Johnny Manziel based on my athletic ability as a quarterback, and the whole town knows ill do great things when I get to high school next year and they know what Im capable of, there is just one problem....... My height Im 5"4 and my whole family is short, my dad is 5"4 , my mom is 5"2 and my sisters are 5 "0 , I think the tallest person in my mom and DADS side is 5"10 :( , Im already friends with the high school coaches and think I can even play college ball , but I dont think I have the height ;( It would be a miracle if I even grow 6"0 it even makes me cry sometimes how people tell how good I am , then I think to myself that I wont have a future in football, Im already working out , and practicing hard and Im determined to be the best I can be because I love football more than anything. PLEASE HELP ME SO I CAN GROW TALL OR AT LEAST TO MY FULL POTENTIAL AND TO THOSE OF YOU WHO DONT KNOW HOW IMPORTANT HEIGHT IS FOR THE QUARTERBACK POSITION OR JUST FOR FOOTBALL IN GENERAL ITS REALLLLLLYYYYY IMPORTANT NO FOOTBALL TEAM WANTS A SHORT QUARTERBACK THERE IS VERY FEW SHORT QUARTERBACKS , THE SHORTEST ARE 6"0 , 6"1!!!!!!!! SO PLEASE HELP, I NEED TO GROW!!
Answer: Hello
There are many ways that can help you growing taller faster.
Here are some useful methods to grow taller faster:
Healthy diet
You need to start eating foods that are rich in proteins.
for instance:
Milk, fish, eggs, and lean meat are all forms of good protein.
Try also eating foods that have plenty of amino acids and vitamins.
Be aware that the biggest threats to your growth are caffeine, junk food and refined sugar.
Leg lengthening, spine lengthening and other exercises
There are some very useful exercises for growing taller. Swimming for example is really great.
In the water you have less gravity and that means more open bone areas for your body to fill them with new bone tissue. The free motion of swimming is very light on your body and greatly releases stress, which can prevent your body from growing. If you can swim 3-4 times a week it will be great.
sleep well
Getting a full night's sleep every day is one of the most important things for growing taller..
Get about 8 hours of sleep each night and take whatever steps you need to ensure that your sleep is uninterrupted as much as possible.
You should also know that the first 2 hours of sleep are when the most growth hormone is released into your system from your pituitary gland. Sleeping just a few hours can lower the amount of growth hormone your body produces, which is not what you want.
All the best

Would an NFL team draft a talented player if he was available to them even if he was unneeded?
Lets say a guy like Johnny Manziel fell all the way down to 20th pick and the packers had it...would they ever draft him just because of his talent even though they are not in a need for a qb?
Says Eddie Lacy fell to the 3rd round and the 9ers wanted him..even though they already have 3 backs, frank gore(aging), kendall hunter(good for when gore leaves injured right now), and rookie lamichael james who looks like he could be a strong 2nd back along with hunter when Gore retires. Do you think the 49ers would ever draft him because of his talent and skill?
Answer: Drafting more RB's is always different than drafting QB's. I don't think GB drafts Manziel at that spot if they had other needs first and thought there was a guy left with 1st round potential. If they didn't, they would opt to trade out of that position for a team that needed a QB.
The only time you do that, is when your QB is starting to get old, like GB did with Favre when they drafted Rodgers. Favre had several good seasons left in him, but he was also old enough to warrant drafting a new QB.
RB's are different because the average career of a RB is 4 years. They get injured so regularly, that teams are looking to have 2 capable RB's on hand at any given time. The Niners were comfortable with their RB's going into the draft this year, but Harbaugh knew that it's ALWAYS a position of need, so they went ahead and drafted another RB that they thought could take over for Gore.

Jonathan Paul Manziel (born December 6, 1992), also known by his nickname, Johnny Football, is an American football quarterback for the Texas A&M Aggies.
