How do the English feel about Andy Murray?
I have been watching the rise of Andy Murray for the last 2 years and feel that the bloke is an incredible talent. His recent performance against Federer only goes to prove his talent. But, i struggle to support him, even though his is under the Great Britiain team. He came out and said that he would not support England in the World Cup and complains that he is not supported enough in the English press, so why should the English support him. Respect his talent, as i do with any of the worlds best players, but supporting him is too much. What do you feel?
Answer: Toughie. Depends how 'British' you feel against how 'English'. I think most people in England would categories themselves as British at the moment, but thinking of yourself as 'English' is increasingly common.
If you're 'British' you're probably happy to cheer on the Murraymeister, but if you're 'English' then you probably feel the same way towards him as the Scots often do towards England. A kind of grudging respect tempered with a degree of grievance.
By taking an 'anyone but England' stance, Murray's probably served to polarise opinion in England further. Mind you, if he wins Wimbledon, I bet it's all forgotten in the hoo-ha afterwards!
Personally? I don't even like tennis!

ON BASEBALL; Bidding War For Rodriguez Needs 2 Teams
Alex Rodriguez is not attending the general managers meetings, so no general managers have been throwing thousand dollar bills or offers at him. Who is Britains best prospect out of the following 3 - Amir Khan, Andy Murray or Lewis Hamilton?
Ive thought about this carefully and Ive come to the conclusion that Lewis Hamilton will be the biggest of the three.
I think Amir Khan has the mental toughness but lacks the talent to win in America. Andy Murray has the talent but lacks the mental fortitude in my opinion.
Lewis Hamilton has both the talent and the mental toughness.
Answer: Amir Khan is the better overall boxer. Khan is a skilled boxer with a pretty good powerpunch and will be even better in the future. The only thing that worries me about Khan is;....I don't know if his chin is good enough when he steps up in class. If that's the case, then he's no future champ that's for sure. He also needs to work on his defense, but he's definitely the best British prospect out there.
It's going to be very interesting to see in the future how Amir handles a boxer who can punch, because so far all of his opponents have been featherfisted with very few KO's and some have never even won a fight by KO. Maybe his team know something we don't.

We all know that Alex Ferguson & Andy Murray are 2 big icons in football & in tennis respectively. They are both Scots.
Scot hates the English, but the English love a Brit winner and it doesnt matter where they come from; the Scots do!
So, What are their political views about Scotland autonomy out of the UK?

How much tax will Andy Murray need to pay out of $9 millions in US open?
Andy Murray won US open. Prize money is $9 millions. How much tax will Andy Murray need to pay to US and UK tax departments?
Answer: Dual taxation rules - if he is UK dom then he pays taxes only in the UK. Top marginal rate is actually 45% (less expenses, allowances etc etc).
Deferred tax for sportspeople because special rules on short careers.
If the money does not come into the country he wont pay tax on it.
You be surprised how many legal paths are open to tax efficiency.
That said I have never seen his record (and don't want to) - I wonder if he is UK dom?

What are the best qualities of Rafa Nadal, Andy Murray and Robin Soderling?
I know that Andy Murray is fast and good at slicing but is that it? And how is Robin Soderilng able to beat Rafa Nadal, What are his best Skills? like a big serve or a good return of serve or something like that, does any one know?
Thats a great answer thanks. What are Soderlings best skills tho, Ive noticed that he has a great return of serve sometimes, what are his other best skills would you say?
Answer: soderling beat nadal cos he jumped on top of taht high boucing ball and smacked it to the lines. he lost 2 rog cos rog can keep ball low, take time away from him, and mix things up. nadal gives players alot of time and alot of high balls.
muzza is fast, guesses right 80% of the time, and is very good at not hitting the ball out. occassionally he has a big first serve, but his 2nd serve pretty much sucks.
nadal has great movement, a solid backhand, a solid serve, and a heavy forehand. his consistancy got him to number 1 rather than any one stroke. he is also fast.

Why does Andy Murray take 3 Tennis balls, but then drop one and hit it back to the ball-boy?
I have just been watching Andy Murray play tennis vs Roger Federer on the television.
Every time Murray is up to serve, he is passed 3 balls, he holds those balls in his hands - looks at them and then drops one and hits it back to the ball boy.
Why is this?
--I was just wondering if there was anything more than superstition to it.
Answer: many players do that. they are given three balls by the ball boy/girl and then they can decide which two are best for them by feeling them. it is not superstition, the ball boys are told to give the player the option.

What did you make of Roger Federer vs Andy Murray?
Roger Federer squared off against Andy Murray in the Australian Open semi finals. It looked to me as if it was a good match, just seperating the two were breaks here and there. The match did look quite close to me but the commentators were saying it was Murray right the way through! Now 5 sets to me doesnt look as if it was complete domination but the 5th set I confess was empty from Roger (possibly from his quarter final against Tsonga?)
What did you guys think of the Semi-Final? And what are Rogers chances to win a slam this year judging from that?
Answer: Roger Federer is still great, but the inevitable passage of time means that he is no longer as good as he was. No shame in that - it happens to everyone.
Though the ratings hve yet to catch up, Murray is undoubtedly the number two player in the world at the moment.
As for the match, Federer was hanging on by guts and instinct, but Murray was noticeably the superior player on the day.

When will Andy Murray win his first Slam and which one will it be?
Does anyone else think that Andy Murray will soon reach the highest heights in mens tennis? I believe its only a matter of time before he wins his first Grandslam. So when do you think this will happen, and at which Slam does he have the best chance to win?
Answer: If he stays at no4 spot on AO he will meet Nadal at semis ( if Nadal stays no1 that is) so no finals with 2 of them. Yes I can see him winning the grand slam, and really think his best chance is AO or US open. Although Nadal will be a hard to fight,we all know he goes one step further every time, so he will have to work very hard for that. It's just metter of time, I am guessing 2009.
Winning Wimbledon or RG is something i don't see him doing, not as lons as the "big 3" is around.
