Who do famous people wear pittsburgh pirate hats?

Ive seen multiple rappers and musicians (like Snoop Dog and various other artists) wear pittsburgh pirate hats and i think its kinda weird. Most of them arent from pittsburgh and as a person from pittsburgh I really think its retarded because the pirates suck.

Answer: Snoop Dogg has an obsession with the Steelers and that has carried over to just Pittsburgh sports in general. Another rapper you might have seen is Nelly, he actually tried out to be a Pirate, but choose rapping instead and pays homage to the Pirates in that way.

If you have anyone in particular they normally have some ties to Pittsburgh.

Plus the Pirates might suck now but Pittsburgh has a history of great sports and since we are one of the only cities who has all of their sports teams in the same colors people who are fans of one team normally by paraphernalia of other teams as well.

And Pittsburghers have a way of turning people into Pittsburgh sports teams, I mean we have a Steelers Hooters in LA and a Pittsburgh sports bar in Rome, Italy.

after 20 losing seasons, the Pirates FINALLY have a winning record for the first time since Sid Slid. It hurt a franchise for many years, and they were soooo close to a world series.

Answer: No, we hate Barry Bonds... he should of been able to throw out Sid Bream, the ball was not hit deep and Bream was the slowest runner in baseball. Bond's throw was off target by about 8 feet, an accurate throw to home would of got Bream out.

I'm old enough that I got to see the Pirates win the World Series in 1971 and 1979. I was also alive when they won in 1960 but too young to know it. There's a lot of baseball fans that don't get to see their team win the World Series. I think being a Cubs fan would be worse. All those years the Pirates were losing they were at the bottom of the pay-roll scale but the Cubs have been spending big bucks for the last 20 years and rarely made the play-offs let alone win a World Series.

Does ANYONE think that the Pittsburgh Pirates will be good this year? I think that they will be at least .500, and they will be ok.

Answer: I've been following my Pirates for over 40 years and this is the first time since the early 1990s that I'm excited about their chances. They have added the long sought after power hitter they have been looking for in Adam LaRoche and their young pitching staff has a years experience under their belts. The second half of last season shows that they're an up and coming team. I honestly think they will play over .500 baseball for the first time in 15 years. Look for even better improvement in the years to come. A young team that is on the way up after being dismal for so long!

The last time the Pittsburgh Pirates had a winning season was in 1992. Likewise, for the Orioles it was 1997. Which team do you think will produce a winning season before the other?

Answer: I am biased, but I do feel that objectively I look at the Orioles and believe that they will improve soon. I honestly believe that the Orioles needed a proven winner (Buck Showalter) that isn't going to be pushed around and will cut the garbage. We are in a tough division. The Rays, Sox, Yanks, and even the Jays had winning records. That being said I think Buck will not tolerate, guys who give games away, and that has been the Orioles problem. I am also hoping this isn't a wish.

Yes, I know, it is sad, but I am a Pittsburgh Pirates fan, despite the fact that they have been terrible since I was in middle school. Any guesses on how many games they will win this year? Any hope soon for the Buccos?

Answer: Even as optimistic as I am, I do not look for the Pirates to win much more than 75 games. The only way they even get near .500 this year is IF their pitching staff does a remarkable turnaround from last year. You can expect some improvement now that Joe Kerrigan is the pitching coach. Also, the Bucs must still add a right-handed power bat,one good experienced pitcher and bench help. They now have at least 4 players to build around (McLouth, Doumit, Maholm and Capps), but still are a year or two away from being competitive.
