Should i sell my ps vita and buy an OUYA or nVidia project shield?
I dont play on it much and the game selection Id very small, but I would probably play on the OUYA or the shield more and they would both have more games.
I dont know how much the shield would cost but the OUYA would be under 100 pounds
Answer: Well... first off, Project Shield doesn't even exist yet. They have a prototype, and that's about it. There's no release date for it yet, no pricing information, and it was only even announced a couple of weeks ago. There's no guarantee that it will even go into production.
Second, Ouya won't be out until June or so (unless you were one of the lucky few who got in on the Kickstarter campaign, in which case, they'll be shipping sometime in March).
Either way, you're going to be waiting awhile to get your hands on one or the other, and there's no way of knowing yet whether or not either of them will have "more games" than the PS Vita. That's going to depend on how well they start selling.

will the ouya be able to play playstation games?
I hear the new ouya system has emulators like nintendo 64, and that got me kind of excited. Will it also be able to play playstation 1 games and even ps2 games? Is there potential for it?
Answer: it will probably play ps1 games as there are android emulators for ps1 games already and the ouya is android but i dont think it will play ps2 games but if a ps2 emulator was ported onto the ouya then it should work but i dont think it will read discs it will probably be the iso files of the games

How do I become a programmer for OUYA?
Hi there, Im really desperate to do something creative in life, and am hoping the upcoming OUYA will be a good opportunity.
I have no android experience (no android device even!)
However, I have a tiny bit of basic java experience (enough to make a random story plot generator).
I also made some basic programmes in gamemaker, and have designed several entertaining boardgames. Im confident on the design side, I just need to get my technical knowledge up.
Should I learn to programme for android more generally first? Would there be many things distinct about OUYA that Id have to re-learn. Should I buy an android device? Which? Or should I just get an OUYA outright? How long will it take to learn to programme in Android? Where are the best tutorials? THANKS!

Are OUYA games really going to be free to play?

The whole reason that Im going to buy an OUYA is riding on the fact that its not a requirement to pay in order to play the games. Ive been buying a lot of games for my tablet already so Im hoping OUYA is going to go really easy on the wallet.

Do you think the Android Ouya will be any good?
Come March 2013, everyone in the world will be able to create their own modern video games and distribute them via Android. All for $99 and a low monthly fee. But do you think Ouya will revolutionize gaming, or end up being the next Gizmondo?
Answer: First of all... what monthly fee? The Ouya hasn't announced anything of the sort... there might be a fee of OnLive on Ouya, but that's part of OnLive, not the Ouya itself. There is no fee to access the market. And it says right on their kickstarter page that there will be no licensing fees, retail fees, or publishing fees for developers.
You're also a little off saying that "everyone in the world will be able to create their own modern video games". It would be more accurate to say that everyone with the technical knowledge to learn to program for Android will be able to create their own modern games. There's still a pretty high bar you have to be able to get over to actually develop for it (though nowhere near as high as for, say, Xbox 360 or PS3).
Also, wasn't Gizmondo the handheld that cost like $400 and only had 8 games? XD I don't think Ouya's launch can even come close to being that pathetic.

Is It Worth Getting A PS3 In A Year, When New Consoles Are About To Be Released?
I really want a PS3, and I think Ill get one for my birthday next year, but it is worth it, especially with the OUYA (I will be getting that regardless of anything else) and possible next PlayStation and Xbox console releases coming so soon? I am a KS OUYA backer and lots of people seem to know their backer number.. i was frustratedly curious how do I find out my backer number on Kickstarter? thanks.
Answer: The only way I know of is by emailing OUYA at support@ouya.tv and asking like I did.
It might take a few days but you'll get a response. Alternatively, check your email and there should be an email from ouya.tv that has your backer number in it. Make sure you check the email you used to back the kickstarter project.

I know that it is possible for there to be a ps2 emulator to be put on the ouya, but will it be able to handle the games. I would like to play games like star wars battlefront 2, sly raccoon, etc. Will it be able to handle games like this?
Answer: Even high end PCs struggle to emulate PS2 games. The OUYA's Tegra 3 is a mobile phone GPU, it can just about manage to emulate a regular Playstation, that's about the best you can hope for.

Thanks to the first answer! So, a followup -- since I will have to wait until March: what is the best way for me to make use of the next two months? (before I can grab hold of my own OUYA in March, that is)
Answer: If you want to program for Ouya, you'll need to get an Ouya, as it has it's own interfaces and whatnot... but it certainly wouldn't hurt to get an android device and the android 4.0 devkit and learn the basics before jumping into Ouya. It will be similar.
But unless you invested in an early-release dev console (which have already started shipping) during the Kickstarter campaign, you really have no way of seeing the actual Ouya production environment right now. You'll just have to wait until the official release in March.
