Do you forget that Trayvon Martin had a right to defend himself against a fat sweaty male who followed him?

Maybe a normal kid like Trayvon Martin did not like this male attention. This is free country and he has a right to run away from a fat sweaty male who is running him down in a car and then apparently on foot.

What was Trayvon Martin supposed to think and do? Obviously defend himself in the tradition of other Americans.

Answer: Taking a look at the facts, along with some probable assumptions, I say yes. If some guy, not a police officer or even security guard, but just some guy, comes creeping up on me in the dark, I'm gonna beat the piss out of him.

*once Zimmerman called the cops, his job as a Neighborhood watchman was finished.
*911 operator specifically told Zimmerman to not peruse Trayvon, Zimmerman did anyway.
*Zimmerman has no authority to try to apprehend anyone, he is merely a voluntary neighborhood watchman, not a cop
*Zimmerman had a gun. Why does a neighborhood watchman have a gun? The tools of his 'trade' are limited to a flashlight and a phone. He's a cop caller, not a cop.

How do you feel about all the national attention on Trayvon Martin murder case?

The controversy is over the fact that the Sanford police have not yet arrested the shooter George Zimmerman and its been over a month. George says it was self defense.

Answer: You have abbreviated the "controversy" and might want to review your information. The CONTROVERSY is multi-faceted and involves far more than the Sanford police department's dereliction of duty or perhaps even criminal (or racist) conspiracy regarding the MURDER of an unarmed young black teen who lived in the community with his dad and his stepmom---he had every right to be able to walk to and from a convenience store to get himself an iced tea and a bag of Skittles without ending up DEAD because a racist self-appointed vigilante (and wanna-be pretend cop) chased and then killed this young boy without any provocation. George Zimmerman has a history of violence and neurotic behaviors that should have prevented him from even having a gun. Once he'd used deadly force against a young lad he'd CHASED with no probable cause whatsoever even after the police dispatcher told Zimmerman to remain in his car---he MURDERED Trayvon Martin!---the police who arrived on the scene should have (a) tested Zimmerman for alcohol (his speech was slurred on the nonemergency 911 tapes) or for drugs; and (b) had him surrender his weapon pending investigation. Neither of these two normal procedures (used if a police officer is involved in a shooting so why not for a CIVILIAN whacko?) were done by police at the scene of this homicide---so why? Zimmerman should have at the very least been taken in for questioning and the blood test! He was not even an AUTHORIZED SECURITY GUARD, not having gone through the required training, so why is he still free with the very gun he used to murder a teen with no history at all of violence or bad behavior??? Florida's really bad right-wing-Republican-passed "Stand Your Ground" crappola of a "law" is also part of the controversy because the legislation was WRITTEN BY THE NRA and very poorly written now that Trayvon's death has brought its existence into the limelight. Zimmerman was not "standing his ground"---he was CHASING an unarmed decent young black teen for no valid reason---a teen who was going back to his STEPMOTHER'S APARTMENT! This case is NOT going to go away until justice for Trayvon Martin and the Martin family has been done---and that will include the arrest and HATE CRIME federal trial of George Zimmerman, the civil suit filed against the police department of Sanford, and the idiotic right-wing gun-crazed law being overturned.

Only the prosecutor knows all of the evidence in the Trayvon Martin case. I know that some black americans are from families that were enslaved or segregated. In the Trayvon Martin case, the public does not know about all of the evidence. In the news, I see protesters demanding that Zimmerman be arrested, but they do not know all of the evidence. Has slavery or segregation affected some protesters views about the Trayvon Martin case?

Answer: Slavery? Segregation? Neither one carry a single factor in the Trayvon Martin "marches for justice". In fact, justice itself is NOT WHY mass mobs of BLACKS show off to the media. What is the REAL reason for the "protest marches", then???

BLACKS OPPOSE THE STAND YOUR GROUND LAW. Why is simple: It's become more dangerous for criminal on innocent people crimes to happen---now the robber, mugger, convenience store thief, car-jacker, rapist and yes....illegal drug dealers and "gangsta thug" members all now have to wonder if their intended victim is either UNARMED.....or packing "heat".

Trayvon Martin, simply put, is merely being used up---for a variety of means....by a variety of people looking to gain fame and make a buck off him. If they can't push the courts to ignore Stand Your Ground and find Zimmerman guilty anyway, then profiting off Trayvon Martin is "justice" enough.

Why did the Obama administration insert itself into the Trayvon Martin protests?

A little known group, the Depatment of Justices Community Relations Service, also known as “The Peacemakers,” was formed under the 1964 Civil Rights Act and empowered to act to mitigate local tensions between ethnic groups. Instead of mitiogating the racial tension as a result of the the killing of Trayvon Martin this groups attended meetings and planning sessions of protest leaders and offered advice and assistance to the protestors. Why did the Obama admionistration insert itself into the Trayvon Martin protests?

Answer: I have stayed away from some of the questions involving this issue. Kind of biding my time and watching. I think it was Florida's business, the county this happened in. I don't think a president should have gotten into it and the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, yikes. Do we have to make everything that happens to an "innocent" black person a racial crusade and get the entire country wound up about it? So, are we going to start the white brigade and whenever a black person now commits some crime against a white person, shall we now start a huge racial war? Please.

I do kind of think that this guy went way overboard and overreacted. He probably should be in jail, but did it take a lynch mob to make this happen and all sorts of commentary and whatnot? Did it take the blacks vs. the whites thing to be brought fourth on all the media shows? Do we have to drag this through discussion time and time again? Then the "wronged" family all over the airwaves making accusations and whatnot? That does not bring that poor boy back to life.

I find myself wondering if people have actually profited in some way over this now?

I feel for this family. I wouldn't care if the child killed was white, black or other. I care that someone shot an innocent kid. I care that justice is done. But, I leave it at that and I am not allowing myself to get on the defensive as a republican against democrat or a white against black or a gun owner (I am not one) against a non-gun owner.
This country has gone way too far lately and we have bigger fish to fry, and certainly our president surely does.
With that, I am done making my commentary about this and I am so sorry this boy was killed.

Lets say that Trayvon Martin was carrying a gun instead of a bag of skittles.

Lets say that George Zimmerman called 9-11, and was told not to follow Trayvon.

Lets say that George Zimmerman follows Trayvon anyway, and he gets shot by Trayvon.

Lets say Trayvon claims it was self-defense since he was being followed.

Would Trayvon Martin be free the same way that George Zimmerman is free?

Answer: With the right lawyer anything is possible.

I feel awful when i hear the Trayvon Martin case ): but whenever i try to learn more, theres always something about skittles and arizona, and what does it mean?

Answer: I see your point. The hoodie was a big deal, why not the arizon & skittles? The main thing is Zimmerman was not arrested. A corpse appears, someone is arrested and a determination is made whether or not he is a killer or whether there was a reason for it. This law of theirs does not mean when anyone says they are innocent they are in fact innocent. The same law that made police departments made them to arrest people who may have committed a crime.
This ia all common sense and so, on this basis I am going to declare that Zimmerman may have slaughtered Martin like a animal and the police are in on it. This could serve the cause of racism.
We have a Black President, the FBI likes to take center stage now and then, maybe there will yet be some heat on them. Real heat, which enforces the law. Not smoke and mirrors, like their coverup.

From the 911 tape that i heard on tv that A-hole disobeyed a direct order to not pursue, he did so and shot the kid.Clear case of racial profiling, so what if there were robbery's in that neighborhood why did he naturally assume because he was a black youth that it was him?
