How come Murray has been beating nadal recently?

Murray has beaten nadal in their last 3 matches why is that so? What are his strategies and tactics in beating nadal especially on hard courts?

Answer: All 3 matches were on hard and thats Murrays favourite surface and Nadals least favourite(10 of Nadals 11 defeats came on hard last year) and they are both great players so Nadals not gonna beat Murray every time theres bound to be alot of defeats either way between theese 2 players.
Also 2 of them were best of 3 sets and Nadals more likely to lose the shorter matches he plays(9 of his 11 defeats last year came in best of 3 set matches)
Also Murray relishes playing the Nadal's and Federer's of the game as he really enjoys being up against the best and testing himself.He therefore plays fearlessly against Nadal and that gives him a chance as hes not afraid of Nadal like some people are(mentioning no names here but we all know who I mean) so he's able to produce his best.

All that said if they meet on grass and on clay Nadal is the definite favourite to win and Nadal will most likely end Murrays winning run against him as soon as they meet on one of theese 2 surfaces.

How many major titles does Nadal have and can he come close to Federer?

Federer has won so many majors that he was in line to surpass Pete Samprass. I was wondering if Nadal was anywhere near to Federers accomplishments.

Answer: Well, Nadal has 6 grandslam titles. It is possible that Nadal can one day get as close to the major titles that Federer currently have because Nadal is young. He's just 22 and as long as he stays healthy even if he has knee tendinitis, as I say again, that he can reach Federer's record as the years progress while Roger is getting old and trying to surpass Sampras's record of 14.

Im seriously impressed with Nadals 2012 clay court season, yet I wonder whether he can also be this succesful on grass and hard court. All his 2012 titles come from clay tournaments...

Answer: Fun fact: Spain won the Euro Cup in 2008, then Nadal won Wimbledon. Spain won the World Cup in 2010, then Nadal won Wimbledon again. Will that coincidence happen again this year?

To answer your question now, when you have won a certain tournament before, you have a great chance of doing it again if it's your destiny. If Nadal doesn't win Wimbledon, then I'm curious to see if Federer can stop Djokovic at Wimbledon if they have the opportunity to play each other to see if Federer's really finished, whether he's in Djokovic's or in Nadal's draw.

How can nadal counter the attacking style and net game of federer on grass?

I have watched their wimbledon match last year. I have noticed that federer pressures nadal and keeps him off balance when he attacks the net and do those various volleys which produces easy points for roger. I know for sure this will be the same tactic that federer will use in their match.

Answer: what gives nadal the advantage on clay , is that the court is not as fast as grass or hard courts , he reaches for the ball and hit it with a top spin with his forehand that most off does not depend on speed other than high spinning , thats the most shot he got , and its really heavy on the other player to hit back , its not as easy as we watch it , and he recently developed a good high speed backhand shot , but when it comes to grass , the most effective shots are flat , and with a brilliant net player like federer , nadal gotta do something about his forehand ,
another thing is that rafa's shot placement is near the middle of the court rather than the base line , it may got advantage on clay as the ball take a high attitude after bouncing , but on grass it won't help him that much
after all every player got his own techniques , hoping rafa would become on grass as good as he is or clay

How quickly can Rafael Nadal get back to the top?

Rafael Nadal has started to play on the tour again, after 7 months out.

He is playing at the Chile Open. He won his 1st round match.

I think Rafa has made his comeback at a good time.

Q1.But how quickly can he get to the top.

Q2.Do you still see Nadal as the favourite for this years French Open?
There seems to be a common thought that Rafa is still the favourite for the upcoming ClayCourt season and ultimately the French Open.

Answer: If Rafael Nadal wins his eighth French Open this year, he definitely is back. He's got a tough road to hoe to get there, though . . . including the entire clay court circuit which includes: Chile, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico along with the traditional stops in Barcelona, Madrid, Monte Carlo and Rome.

Not to mention two mandatory Master Series 1000 events in America at Indian Wells, CA and Miami, FL . . . both events are played on Nadal's least favorite surface for his knees . . . hardcourt.

You're right. Nadal very smartly began his comeback on a favorable surface for his brilliant game and his slightly-aging body. I definitely predict victories in the smaller tournaments and if he is able to rest properly (that means not playing Barcelona or Madrid even though they are staged in his home country of Spain), Nadal will take the Monte Carlo and Rome tournaments and subsequently, Roland Garros.

So, yes Rafael Nadal will be back on top of the tennis world on or about June 3rd (when the French Open concludes), which incidentally, just happens to be his 27th birthday!

Who is more arrogant rafael nadal or novak djokovic?

Well!! according to me nadal is more arrogant thats why hes not so popular with the guys in the locker room whereas djokovic is more over confident than arrogant but lets see what you people think?

Answer: Oh even though I am not a Nadal fan he is not arrogant. Djokovic has got to be one of the most arrogant players out there. He's won one major and yet he's acting like he's the hottest thing out there. His loss to Nadal is something I really enjoyed because I think he needs to be reminded that he is not even close to being as good as Rafael or Roger. I also don't know if Rafa isn't popular with the other players but if that's true I don't think it has anything to do with him being arrogant and more so with the fact that his English still isn't all that great. He's improved it a lot but it isn't all that good.

How is it fair that Azarenka won more prize money than Nadal at the Australian Open?

She wins her matches in best of 3, and plays far inferior opponents. In the final, she won in barely an hour. Nadal lost in 5 sets to Djokovic, after playing for about 6 hours.

What do you think the results would have been had Azarenka had to play Federer (who Nadal beat in 4 sets) and Djokovic (who beat Nadal in 5 sets)? How would she have fared?

Answer: Simple answer: It isn't.

Now look, I'm all for gender equality. But there's something to be said for earning what you deserve. And for the effort Nadal gave, he deserves at least 3 times as much as what any female player got.

If Azarenka had to play Federer, she would have lost 6-0, 6-2, 6-2. I know it would be popular to believe that Federer would triple bagel her, but even the best male tennis players know that when you are in COMPLETE control of a match, you can focus more on holding your own serve and perhaps let a few games go here and there.

Against Djokovic, she would have lost worse, because Djokovic fights for everything and is in the prime of his career. He isn't like Federer, who needs to be purely-offensive minded. he would run down everything Azarenka threw at him. She'd be lucky to get a game.

See, this is just pathetic. Women's tennis is nowhere near the level the men play at, and it doesn't draw nearly the same amount of viewers? So why are they paid equally? Political correctness, I guess. But that still doesn't make it right.

Answer: Lol, I aint gonna massage him. I am a guy who would love to chat with him all day if possible but that's all. Its not like I will scream out and faint at the sight of Nadal. He is seriously a good bloke and a pleasure to talk to.

Federer and Nadal. What they contribute to tennis is amazing and without these two players, tennis would have no emotion at all (no major rivalry)

Answer: If Federer or Nadal weren't around, there would be other exciting players occupying their positions. Perhaps, Roddick, Hewitt, Murray, Bagdaitis, would have profited with Federer not hanging around at number one for so long.

It's the same situation in golf. With Tiger Woods gone, the opportunity is there for other players to shine.

I think that Federer/Nadal is one of the greatest rivalry in tennis. I really liked the Borg/McEnroe rivalry, though. The serve and volley/baseliner contrast really made this rivalry something special.

Why Rafael Nadal lost the second round at Wimbledon?

Its mind boggling that Nadal lost to an unknown Lukasz Rosol who himself was knocked out in the third round. Does this mean that if other players play like Rosol did against Nadal, theres a good chance that Nadal can be eliminated in early rounds?

Answer: Getting through the early rounds is always a lottery. Those up and coming players come out swinging - nothing to lose and everything to gain. And the sad thing about what happened the other evening is Rosol was obviously playing way above his norm, and got knocked out in his next match. Mind you, Kilhschreiber knocked out Nadal at Hesse too, so make of what happened in Rosol's next match, what you like. I think, doing a 5-setter like that, would have been bound to take it out of the guy, so the next result was almost a given. Must make Nadal sick, but then again, would he have been beaten by Kolhschreiber again if he'd beaten Rosol?!

What happened was indeed mind-boggling, but right from the first match, and before he stepped onto Court, Nadal didn't look right. He stood at the door to the players area messing around with his bag in a most un-Nadal like way. He usually gets it all straight before he even appears, and if necessary, keeps everybody waiting! I think his OCD is getting out of control. He was fiddling with everything during that last match and getting upset with everything. All that stuff about Rosol flapping his racket when he was serving - rubbish! If anybody should be getting upset, it's the guy Nadal serves to with all that 'routine' he goes through every time. It's getting stupid.

Unless there is something going on with Nadal, that we've not been told yet, yes, he is there to be shot at. I just wish he'd stopped all the shoulder shrugging he did during his post-match interview and simply said he was outplayed on the night, which he was. That should have been enough!

Shows the difference between Nadal right now and Federer, who dropped the first two sets in his match the following evening, but managed to retain his composure, and battle through without what Nadal was apparently reduced to doing. Now THAT'S class!!

ps I am a Nadal fan, but didn't enjoy what I was seeing last Thursday - and not because he was losing either!

What weapons does Rafael NADAL have to add to his game to win on other surfaces than clay?

I believe NADAL has peaked. He cannot volley nor does he alter tactics or strategies when he plays - begs the question whether he can.

TSONGA took him apart at the AO - he was dismantled and the inadequacies of his game laid bare in such a way his confidence must be shattered.
I wish he would get more offensive and try to end the point sooner; grinding his opponent into the court with long rallies aint that good for your long-term health

Answer: i cant see him winning too many majors on hard courts.

(1) he need to flatten his shots, too much top spin in his game.
(2) he seems a bit slow compare to last year. it takes allot out of you when you play his style.
(3) very defensive, i cant remember the last time he played offensive.
(4) he don't have a first serve, he has to work for every point, where as other players have first serve as a weapon. IE federer, djokovic, nalbandian and many more.
I've seen nadal play in Chennai (India) in January, youzhny demolished him. he kept leaving the ball short and any player who can hit hard and flat (big hitters) would severely cause problems to nadal.
on clay, he is untouchable.

Can Nadal win his third straight Roland Garros title without dropping a set?

After the quater final against Carlos Moya, Nadal has not drop a set. Can he win the title without droppong a set. All his previous opponent in the previous round has commented that Nadal is playing his best tennis and its unbeatable in this tournament.

Answer: Good possibility is Federer doesn't change his game plan and become more aggressive with him in the final. I must admit nadal is playing some great tennis however I believe that federer has some tricks instore for nadal

What are the weaknesses of nadal on hard court play?

Even though nadal won the rogers cup recently, I still believe there is still some holes in nadals game on hard courts. If players will be a able to capitalize on them they can beat nadal easily on hard courts. What are these?

Answer: I would imagine the ideal player to break Nadals game is Mr. Andre Agassi. His method of gameplay is ideal for picking on Nadals weak spots. Why?

First of all. We all know Nadal isn't called the king of clay for nothing. The man runs down every ball and returns it with godly pace. However, his shots are still more on the spin friendly side. which means if there is a player who loves to hit shots on the rise, take early cuts on the ball and punishes weaker 2nd serves, along with an affinity of playing percentage tennis rather than always attempting spectacular shot making, than nadal is going to have some trouble. I can only see either Djokovic or Federer being able to give Nadal that kind of trouble on hardcourts, from which both now currently seem to be under his will. Hopefully some of the other players on the tour can rise to the occasion and give Rafa a real battle.

How difficult or easy is it to change the style of play for someone like Nadal?

Like for example Nadal plays a pushing style of play where he wears out the opponent and then make him commit errors.

Can such a player suddenly change his style of play where he tries to score more winners rather than making his opponents commit unforced errors.As of now its okay for Nadal to play like this but over a period of years ,he could very well land with injuries which may shorten his career.So its sensible that he changes his style of play that is more attacking landing more winners in his shots

Answer: At this stage its very difficult to change style of play for Nadal. He is a defensive player and he forces opponents to make unforced errors. Its a tactic that is working for him now coz he is fit and healthy and have lots of stamina. But we already know Rafa has a problem with his legs for which he pulled out of a few tournaments in 2007-2008. So, its not gonna be easy for him to keep winning with his defensive play especially on unforgiving hard courts.

He can improve in some areas. He might just come to the nets more often in hardcourt matches to end the points quickly. But I dont think Nadal or for that matter any player can turn a complete 360 and start playing like Federer. Federer's skill and grace is unmatched by any player in history.

Do you think Jo-Wilfried Tsonga played exceptionally well during the semi finals against Rafael Nadal?

I think he palyed great, Nadal didnt play bad at all Tsonga just out played him lol but yeah i think hes going to be a great player in the future. As for the finals i think were in for a great match.

Answer: Your right. Tsonga played like a Top 10 player. He simply played at a level Nadal could not compete at.

Answer: nah... i don`t think verdasco will be a real threat to nadal.. nadal just seems too confident and in his zone.. and he is becoming increasingly aggressive.. playing the net more..
