Why Cant Obama equalize the applicability of ObamaCare to everyone including himself, his Family etc?

The public has watched with disgust the shenanigans in Washington, where healthcare policies for the political class and federal workers are exempt from the healthcare laws that apply to the rest of us. Even the IRS agents who are in charge of enforcing ObamaCare on the rest of us do not want to be subject to it. Why not Equalize? I thought Liberals was all about equality?

What is obamacare and why are people against obamacare?

I have seen the word obamacare often and it seems people are against it. What exactly is it? Something that Obama invented?

Answer: It is the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act - P.P.A.C.A. - which was passed
by Congress and signed into law by Pres. Obama in March 2010. It has since been
given the approval of the U.S.Supreme Court. Its provisions will come into force
gradually over the next several years.

What it does is to catch the United States up with every other modern industrial
nation by providing *universal health care* - that is, health care insurance for
every man, woman and child in the country. (Over 40 million Americans have
*no health insurance* without the P.P.A.C.A).

Why would anyone be against it? That's easy to answer. Large numbers of
Americans pride themselves on their independence and self-reliance. They are
prepared to take care of the health care of their families, and they are convinced
that everyone else should do the same.

They are convinced that the P.P.A.C.A. is nothing but a plot to deprive them of
good health care, while providing good health care for others free of charge. Of
course free health care is *already* being provided for tens of millions under
Medicare, Medicaid, and treatment for those who are uninsured and unable to pay
for care. Those who oppose universal health care just haven't noticed that.

Instead, they have been duped by the lies of the big drug companies, the H.M.O's,
and the doctors organizations - who stand to lose billions of dollars yearly under
"Obamacare", into believing that the sort of health insurance found in every other
civilized country in the world is foolish, and only the old American way is right.

Every time Canadians are asked about their federal health care plan, well over
90% say they are pleased with it and proud of it. Of course, 35 000 000
Canadians may just be stupid. You'll have to decide that for yourself.

What is your opinion about the Obamacare Mandate?

Answer: I don't think it's unconstitutional, but I do believe the whole law is unnecessary. Obamacare has some improvements sure, but they don't fix a broken system. Obamacare is not a bill of reform, it's a bill of a few regulations. It's like having the option of being shot in the arm or the face. I guess the arm, but...Why get shot at all? Why can't we get our **** together and be the number one at things again? For all that "America #1" rhetoric from the right, and even from frightened left-wingers, we're not number one, especially not in health care. We are number two in how much we spend on health care per capita, but 37th in actual results. France spends something like 7,000 dollars less than us per capita and they are ranked 1st in the world. Shouldn't we copy what the country ranked number one did, not what mildly worked in Massachusetts? France has free medical school, their doctors are private but they are paid by the government. The health care is free and quality.

It's a fact that the major pharmaceutical companies and health insurance companies wrote the law with President Obama - they're going to make so much money off the mandate they wanted the law to be passed.

And it always tickles me to hear right-wingers say that government bureaucrats will be "getting between you and your doctor." Don't they mean health insurance company bureaucrats? 'Cause last time I checked my health insurance company gets between me and my doctor constantly by denying to cover surgeries/medicines my doctor says are medically necessary.

Last time I checked waiting times in the US are only a few percentage points better than Canada's - and that has more to do with the doctor-to-patient ratio being greater here than in Canada. Which means that a carbon copy of the Canadian system in the United States would mean shorter wait times.

Answer: I believe the Romney argument is that ObamaCare is national, and Romney thinks it should be left up to the states.

But, the vast majority of the citizens of Massachusetts love RomneyCare.

The biggest fear among Republicans is that America as a whole will also love ObamaCare. They know that would be politically damaging to the GOP.

If Obamacare will eliminate the use of emergency rooms as primary care, why is it costing more money?

I keep hearing Obamunists say that the cost of Obamacare will be less than we already spend for people who go to emergency rooms for primary care. Why does it cost more then? Why cant it be paid for out of the emergency room care savings?

Answer: My health insurance increased in price directly because of Obamacare, in order to become complaint with it. I'm sure glad he's bringing down the cost of health care by increasing the cost of health care.

How will Obamacare affect job opportunities for new Medical Coders entering the field?

I will be starting a Medical Coding and Transcription course this fall. I am concerned how, if at all, Obamacare might change the outlook for this profession. Will job openings become less and less? Will it remain the same? Can an experienced coder please share their opinion?

Answer: Its going to be destructive toward the medical field, just look at any other country who has socialistic medicine , Britain/Canada/Australia....Those with the means in those countries will routinely fly to the US for medical treatment for cancer and such because their healthcare is so piss poor.

Britain right now has hospitals closing left and right.

The good news for folks going into the medical field in the US, is there is exspected to be a major Dr. shortgage due to uncertainty surrounding Obamacare, so in all likelyhood Drs. will have plenty of work, not many new Drs. coming up and out.

In all honesty, Obamacare will likely only have negative impacts on the ultra liberal states whom are willing to submit to tyranny, most moderate states will REFUSE, to uphold this unconstitutional decree from our tyrannical president and SCOTUS, Governors are already coming forward saying thier states will not be licking the boots of the federal Gov't

Answer: It would depend on the coverage provided by the insurance policy that the person purchased.

Obamacare is not an insurance policy, it is a set of regulations for insurance companies.

Note that it specifically mentions complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) and integrative healthcare in seven different sections throughout the law.

Among those are a "non-discrimination in healthcare" section prohibits insurance companies from discriminating against healthcare providers.

A second notable part discusses establishing community health teams to support patient-centered medical homes. Included within those teams are doctors of chiropractic, licensed complementary and alternative medicine practitioners.

About Obamacare, is accident insurance enough to keep me from paying the penalty tax for Obamacare?

I do not need or want health insurance, because I am extremely healthy and if I were to get sick I do not use any form of standardized medicine. I am completely homeopathic and that works for me. So, I do not want to pay for Obamacare. I am trying to find the cheapest insurance I can, In order to make me exempt from paying for obamacare. Is accident insurance enough to make me exempt from participating in Obamacare?

Answer: Obama has willed you pay for others medical & healthcare and your accident insurance premiums most likely will not cover other people. Therefore you may have to buy the over price and poor medial care coverage offered by Obamacare.

Obamacare opens the door for the government to dictate to you what type and how much medical coverage (hence care) you can and will received. So in the future if the politicians and/or bureaucrats wills you may have to kiss you homeopathic medicine good-bye for what they prescribe. Obama may deny this now, but that is a natural outcome of socialized medicine, which Obamacare is a big step toward.

I do not feel sorry for anyone who voted for Obama and now is discovering that they voted to pay more for medical insurance and/or care. And are discovering that they are losing their freedom and prosperity. My only regret is that those who voted for Obama is dragging the rest of us down to becoming serfs of the state.

Answer: you cant discuss "Obamacare" as it doesnt exist. Its just a nickname given to it by opponents to try and make it sound foolish of which I am sure the asker is NOT one ?

The correct name is the Affordable Health Care Act. Now that the website has been sorted out there should be little trouble. It was absurd millions of Americans didnt have a doctor,and even more absurd no previous President had cared enough to try and do something.?

Making millions of healthy young people pay for healthcare they dont think they need probably wont go down well at first,but sometimes those who know best have to take us in hand for our own benefit as they will realise one day.

It would be better if it was eventually overturned by a full scale "socialised medicine" (as its opponents term it) National Health Service on the scale of Britains. Americans deserve nothing less.

I understand how Obamacare will help the poorest Americans. It means they will be eligible for medicaid.

How does it help middle class Americans? Insurance rates will go up even more now. Deductibles and co-pays will increase. Some small businesses will stop offering insurance to their employees because it will be cheaper for them to just pay the penalty (tax). Employees who are already covered will have to go out and buy insurance. If you have kids, health insurance can be extremely expensive.

I wonder if some people are under the impression that Obamacare means "free" healthcare?

Answer: There are NO free lunches anymore in America. Obamacare has become the biggest tax increase in history. The Congressional Budget Office in March predicted Obamacare will cost $1.76 trillion over 10 years double what it was sold as costing. The Heritage Foundation calculated that under Obamacare, the average cost of insurance for a full-time worker will go up by $5.51 an hour. This entire fraud that is “affordable” health care was perpetrated with the notion that health care would be provided to the uninsured for free. It’s anything but free, and more people are likely to find themselves uninsured as employers drop health plans altogether.

Those who can’t afford health insurance, who were supposed to be helped by the law, will be the likeliest group to be facing fines.

With the ruling today, the Supreme Court has not only endorsed this travestry of a law, it has endorsed all the secret meetings, bribery, threats, “deeming” of laws to have passed that were never voted on, passing of a bill that hasn’t been written and other corruption that went into it.

Lay this all at the feet of those who voted for Obama. He promised to change America. Well, congratulations to the Left, America is surely different today. Consider this, Catholic health care facilities form the largest not-for-profit health service sector in the United States, caring for nearly one-sixth of all U.S. hospital patients each year.

The 620 Catholic hospitals across the country make up 12.4 percent of the nation’s 5,010 community hospitals. They provide 15 percent of the hospital beds and in 2008 accounted for more than 5.6 million -- 15.8 percent -- of the 35.8 million patients admitted to those hospitals that year. In addition to inpatient hospital stays, Catholic hospitals handled more than 98 million outpatient visits, 15.7 percent of the national total. They employ about 540,000 full-time workers and 240,000 part-time workers.

This law so clearly oversteps the bounds of the Federal Government (as defined in the Constitution) it's sickening. They have no right to force doctors, nurses, and hospitals to perform abortions. And the people would suffer, when hundreds of hospitals close.

Where will the poor that depend upon the charity of these hospitals go when they close? Will they still have access to those hospitals that often provide reduced cost or free care? When Romney was governor of a liberal state he was liberal. During the primaries he tried to appeal to conservatives so he was conservative. If elected nobody knows what he will be.

Why do many families get higher grade health policies than others with Obamacare?

I just looked up what a couple in their 40s with two children would pay for Obamacare, & this is what I found posted below....The couple makes $46,000.00 a year......

Bronze plans cover an average of 60% of costs, meaning that, on average, you will be responsible for paying 40% of your health care costs. Also, most services covered by the Bronze plan are subject to a deductible, or amount you must pay out-of-pocket before the plan will cover costs. Im not even offered a Enhanced silver plan even if I paid for it. Then they wont even have to pay a deductible either. I will have to take a bare bones bronze plan with a high deductible I will have to pay, and I will not get any subsidy. All because I make $50,000.00 a year. I am 60 yrs. old and have had cancer, but I did have insurance & it was much cheaper than what the bronze plan will be.

Please tell me how this is fair when I dont have minor children. The more I see & hear about Obamacare the more I see how unfair it is for people in my position. I am told Oh youll have medicare in five years so no big deal. Five years is a long time for me to be beat up like this, while others get offered enhanced silver plans. Why cant families be offered the lowest bare bones policies?

Im in 9th grade and Im taking AP U.S. Government and Politics. Please help me!! I understand what Obamacare is trying to do but Im not so sure how it relates to checks and balances, and how it is unconstitutional or constitutional.

Answer: The supreme court ruling was not a simple "constitutional" or "unconstitutional". It was actually a fairly elaborate decision. The Supreme court ruled that, under the commerce clause, forcing people to buy a product from private companies is in fact unconstitutional, which was the initial challenge. However, the activist judges took it upon themselves to redefine Obamacare to justify it. They ultimately ruled it constitutional in that the penalty is not a fine, but a tax. This, in itself, is warrant to nullify Obamacare entirely, and void the entire bill as being Unconstitutional.
Why, you ask?

Simple.
ALL tax laws MUST originate in the House of Representatives. Obamacare started in the Senate. Minor technicality? Possibly. Legally binding and the ultimate law of the land as its written in the Constitution? Absolutely.

As for the checks and balances, 2/3 of the goverment upheld it, and people were mad. THey challenged it, where the Supreme Court was involved to verify the constitutionality of the law, that the government wasn't overstepping its bounds.
