ODAY--Arthur Francis, passed away on November 15, 2013, from complications from heart disease. Art was born May 29, 1931 in Brockton, Massachusetts. He grew up in Stoughton Massachusetts, where as a teenager he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Art graduated from Stoughton High School in 1949 and Brown University in 1953. At Brown on September 18, 1950 he met and immediately fell for Sally Wilcox of Rockland, MA and in June of 2013 they celebrated 60 years of marriage. The family lived in Scituate, MA, where Art served as President of the Planning Board. In 1964, they moved to Chappaqua, NY and then in 1977 to Manhattan where he took full advantage of the arts. Art loved his family and they loved him, he is survived by his wife Sally, his five daughters Gail ODay (Tom Frank) of Winston-Salem, NC, Wendy ODay of Greenwood, NC, Linda ODay Kennedy (Robert Kennedy) of Colonie, NY, Susan ODay of Pasadena, CA, Brooke ODay of Decatur, TN and two grandchildren Matthew Kennedy of Oak Island, NC and Amanda Kennedy (Roman Dubiel) of Albany, NY and a great-granddaughter Justice Kennedy, he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Following graduation from Brown, Art proudly served in the US Army - 51st Signal Battalion in Iuncheon, Korea. Upon his discharge Art joined The Nordblom Company, a well-known Boston commercial real estate company. He then joined Berenson Company and in 1964 was hired to do real estate development for Associated Dry Goods, a job he totally thrived on and excelled at until the company was sold in 1986 to The May Company. Following his work at ADG he joined The Limited and then The OConnor Company. While living in NYC, Art became Chairman of the Board of Brooklyn based Family Dynamics, which provides vital childrens services. In 1989 Art and Sally retired to Jonathans Landings in Jupiter, FL where they have spent the last 24 years. In 1953 Art took up golf in support of his wifes interests and has continued to enjoy and play all his life, first as a member at Scituate Country Club, then Mt. Kisco Country Club where he served as President and currently in addition to Scituate Country Club, Jonathans Landing Golf Club, making many golf friends along the way. Art was a huge sports fan, loved his pets, particularly his pal Yogi, enjoyed bridge and The New York Times crossword puzzles. In retirement Art actively volunteered in many organizations including taking on the job of President of Jonathans Landing Property Owners. He later became President of Jonathans Landing Cares, which encourages and coordinated volunteer involvement within the Jupiter community. Additionally one of Arts favorite volunteer activities was being a weekly tutor at Jupiter Elementary School. There will be a memorial service for family and friends to celebrate Arts life at 11:00am on Monday, November 25, 2013 at First Trinitarian Congregational Church of Scituate, 381 County Way, Scituate, Massachusetts 02066. Kay was an original member of Board of the Representatives of Stamford and also served on the Boards of Education, St. Johns Towers, St. Josephs Hospital Auxiliary, Catholic Mothers Circles, the Rehabilitation Center of Stamford, Sacred Heart University, and Hubbard Heights Garden Club. In 1951, she was given the Christopher Award for her work in having bronze plaques stating, In God We Trust put into the then 18 public schools of Stamford. She married E. Markey Pullen, MD in 1975 and lived in New Canaan, Royal Oak, Md, and Marco Island, FL. After Markey passed away in 1980 Kay returned to Stamford. She is survived by her brother John P. Brennan of Greenwich and her children: Carol C. Cusick of Tarrytown, NY and grandchildren Thomas and Catherine; William H. and wife Patricia of Hendersonville, NC and grandchildren Megan and William Jr.; Albert Ward of Brooklyn, NY and grandchildren Albert Jr., Elizabeth and John; Mary Alice and husband Craig R. PULLEN--Catherine (Kay) B.,89, passed away February 8, at Greenwich Woods Health Care Center. She was born in Greenwich, CT. December 27, 1920 to Elizabeth and Patrick Brennan. Kay was a long time resident of Stamford and also lived in New Canaan, Marco Island, Florida and Royal Oak, Maryland. She married William H. Cleary in 1942 and raised their four children, Carol Ann, William Jr., Albert Ward, and Mary Alice. After Bill Sr.s passing in 1960, Kay started Mrs. Kays Training Center, a Montessori Program for four and five year olds. She pursued her own education at the University of Oxford as well as the Universities of Florence and Vienna. She loved the city of Stamford and was very involved in its civic affairs. Kay was an original member of Board of the Representatives of Stamford and also served on the Boards of Education, St. Johns Towers, St. Josephs Hospital Auxiliary, Catholic Mothers Circles, the Rehabilitation Center of Stamford, Sacred Heart University, and Hubbard Heights Garden Club. In 1951, she was given the Christopher Award for her work in having bronze plaques stating, In God We Trust put into the then 18 public schools of Stamford. She married E. Markey Pullen, MD in 1975 and lived in New Canaan, Royal Oak, Md, and Marco Island, FL. After Markey passed away in 1980 Kay returned to Stamford. She is survived by her brother John P. Brennan of Greenwich and her children: Carol C. Cusick of Tarrytown, NY and grandchildren Thomas and Catherine; William H. and wife Patricia of Hendersonville, NC and grandchildren Megan and William Jr.; Albert Ward of Brooklyn, NY and grandchildren Albert Jr., Elizabeth and John; Mary Alice and husband Craig R. Sanford, DDS of Nantucket, MA and grandchildren Geoffrey and Christopher and three great-grandchildren Sean, Mia and Ryan; also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express its deep appreciation and thanks to the Staff of Greenwich Woods Healthcare Center for their kindness and excellent care they rendered to Kay over the past year. A memorial service will be held at The Basilica of Saint John the Evangelist on Tuesday, February 23 at 10:30am. Audrey is survived by her children, daughter Jan and husband John Veryzer of Wellesley, MA, daughter Kathryn Clauss of Greenwich, CT, son Jon and Kelley Dominique of Oak Island, NC, son Larry Haag and wife Susan Fisher Haag of New York City, and daughter Martha Haag and spouse Jean Mills of Accord, NY. In addition, to her fifteen grandchildren, Christine Watt, Jennifer Sundstrom, John Hicinbothem, Bryan North-Clauss, Melissa Malone, Lindsay Sheehy, Ashley Clauss, Duncan Clauss, Ben Haag, Taylor Haag, Brendan Haag, Lauren Haag, Max Basch, Peter Basch, and Harrison Basch, she has twelve great grandchildren. ODAY--Arthur Francis, passed away on November 15, 2013, from complications from heart disease. Art was born May 29, 1931 in Brockton, Massachusetts. He grew up in Stoughton Massachusetts, where as a teenager he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Art graduated from Stoughton High School in 1949 and Brown University in 1953. At Brown on September 18, 1950 he met and immediately fell for Sally Wilcox of Rockland, MA and in June of 2013 they celebrated 60 years of marriage. The family lived in Scituate, MA, where Art served as President of the Planning Board. In 1964, they moved to Chappaqua, NY and then in 1977 to Manhattan where he took full advantage of the arts. Art loved his family and they loved him, he is survived by his wife Sally, his five daughters Gail ODay (Tom Frank) of Winston-Salem, NC, Wendy ODay of Greenwood, NC, Linda ODay Kennedy (Robert Kennedy) of Colonie, NY, Susan ODay of Pasadena, CA, Brooke ODay of Decatur, TN and two grandchildren Matthew Kennedy of Oak Island, NC and Amanda Kennedy (Roman Dubiel) of Albany, NY and a great-granddaughter Justice Kennedy, he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Following graduation from Brown, Art proudly served in the US Army - 51st Signal Battalion in Iuncheon, Korea. Upon his discharge Art joined The Nordblom Company, a well-known Boston commercial real estate company. He then joined Berenson Company and in 1964 was hired to do real estate development for Associated Dry Goods, a job he totally thrived on and excelled at until the company was sold in 1986 to The May Company. Following his work at ADG he joined The Limited and then The OConnor Company. While living in NYC, Art became Chairman of the Board of Brooklyn based Family Dynamics, which provides vital childrens services. In 1989 Art and Sally retired to Jonathans Landings in Jupiter, FL where they have spent the last 24 years. In 1953 Art took up golf in support of his wifes interests and has continued to enjoy and play all his life, first as a member at Scituate Country Club, then Mt. Kisco Country Club where he served as President and currently in addition to Scituate Country Club, Jonathans Landing Golf Club, making many golf friends along the way. Art was a huge sports fan, loved his pets, particularly his pal Yogi, enjoyed bridge and The New York Times crossword puzzles. In retirement Art actively volunteered in many organizations including taking on the job of President of Jonathans Landing Property Owners. He later became President of Jonathans Landing Cares, which encourages and coordinated volunteer involvement within the Jupiter community. Additionally one of Arts favorite volunteer activities was being a weekly tutor at Jupiter Elementary School. There will be a memorial service for family and friends to celebrate Arts life at 11:00am on Monday, November 25, 2013 at First Trinitarian Congregational Church of Scituate, 381 County Way, Scituate, Massachusetts 02066.
